Frequently asked questions
What does “sangha” mean and how do you say it?
Sangha translates from Sanskrit as “community.” Sangha is pronounced [SAHN-guh]. The deeper meaning of building a sangha is for us to give to it when we are able and to draw from it when we need. Sangha Studio serves as a place where we can all feel supported and encouraged in community, in our yoga practice, and in our lives. We invite you to join us in this practice of collective care 🧡
How can i donate for class? What does donation-based classes mean?
As a nonprofit, donation-based yoga studio, all classes are by donation. This means students pay what they are able to for class. One of our core values is accessibility. By offering classes that are financially accessible, we enable more people to practice yoga and join in this community. When taking a class, workshop, series, etc. at Sangha Studio, there are various ways to donate:
- The suggested donation per drop-in class is $13, but any donation you are able to make is appreciated. We accept cash, check, and all major credit/debit cards.
- Our 5-Class Pass is $50 for one-week unlimited classes and does not auto renew.
- Become a Member! The Sustaining Membership, Choose Your Own Donation Membership, Gold Glitter Membership and the Virtual Membership auto renews each month. It must be paid with a credit or debit card. Learn more about our memberships, how they support our mission and how to access unlimited monthly yoga on our membership page!
Do I need to pre-register for class?
It’s a great idea to sign up with the studio through Union.fit and register for class in advance, especially if you're running late. However, you can also sign into class when you arrive! If you're running late, know that for the safety of students' belongings, we often lock the doors 5-10 minutes into class if we don't have a volunteer staffed to keep an eye on the lobby.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us.
