Chair Yoga Livestream Classes

Chair Yoga is an accessible practice that has the same benefits of yoga on a mat, but with the use of a chair. While this practice is typically sought out by older adults & folks with limited mobility, Chair Yoga is a great option for anyone who simply is looking for something different. While a Chair practice is typically thought of as more gentle than a mat practice, instructors give various options for poses & movements that challenge students' balance, strength & concentration.

Chair Yoga is a great tool for folks who would like to take their practice off of the mat for any reason. Some people prefer Chair Yoga over a mat practice since there's no weight-bearing on the hands or knees. The chance to pick up this wonderful experience again with the offer of online classes really excited me. I was going to feel good again! Emily's class on Fridays was so well run, she demonstrated each different move clearly & gave the instructions in a well modulated voice. There was no stress. The class was great & I know I'll feel better the more I experience Emily's Friday classes.

One of the best things that happened for me in the year 2020 was the discovery of Chair Yoga and Sangha Studios. I had been working out regularly forever and doing mat yoga for 12 years when COVID-19 hit. I started doing Chair Yoga online through a small business close to home because that’s what was available, immediately fell in love with it, and wanted to find more. I searched for Chair Yoga online and found Catherine Hamilton’s Chair Yoga Love on IG and YouTube--her approach was mind-blowing. Who knew Chair Yoga could be so much fun? So creative? So beautiful? This led me to Sangha Studios where I have taken other wonderful chair and mat yoga classes.
One of the things I like most about the chair as a prop is that, with it, yoga is made accessible to people of many different fitness levels. It also opens up a lot of opportunities to get creative with modifications. Chair Yoga adds a nice variety to my workouts and I would recommend it as a wonderful addition to anyone’s exercise schedule
