Trish completed her 200-hour Bhakti yoga teacher certification at the Govardhan Ecovillage just north of Mumbai, India, in January 2016. A professor, writer, social justice advocate, and perpetual student, when she’s not on the mat you can find her bringing its lessons out into the world.
Trish came to yoga over 15 years ago as a college student and quickly found it helped to manage her stress levels during the semester. After a brief hiatus, and feeling energetically out of balance, she returned to the mat in 2012. A couple of months later she found the strength and clarity to make significant life changes. Since then, life has become an intuitive journey full of joy and adventure. Her breath-led yoga practice is a continuous reminder that a happy life isn’t defined by a lack of obstacles, but by how we choose to respond to them.
Trish understands herself as a facilitator and guide to bring her students deeper into their own practice, while holding space for students to find their flow–listening to their bodies, following their breath, forgetting about what the poses are supposed to “look like” and moving inward. Her classes begin with breath work and often incorporate kriyas (breath work paired with asanas), mandalas, and humor. Grounding yet challenging, contemplative yet invigorating, her intentional sequencing allows her students to organically link breath with movement through music driven flows.
Trish is also a Reiki I&II Practitioner, Inner Alignment Coach, and owner of Transformative Consciousness Coaching and Consulting, LLC, which blends mindfulness, somatic experiencing, and social justice informed approaches for healing the embodied effects of cultural trauma.
