Kristen is a long-time member of Sangha Studio and a fundraising development professional with four years’ experience planning events and fundraising for nonprofit organizations. Kristen graduated from Keene State College in New Hampshire in 2012 with a degree in Secondary Education and Social Science. After college, she spent two years volunteering as an AmeriCorps VISTA in Manchester, NH, where she got her first taste of fundraising and event planning. After AmeriCorps, she packed up her family (husband Erik, cat Stinky, and dog Rigby) and moved to their favorite place on Earth – Burlington, VT – to take a job as the Development Manager at the American Lung Association in Vermont. In her first year, Kristen was charged with getting a brand new fundraising event, the LUNG FORCE Walk, off the ground in Burlington. This event was a huge success, surpassing every major goal set for it. Kristen is excited to bring her fundraising and event planning expertise to help Sangha’s service programs thrive and remain sustainable. As a health nut and someone dedicated to social justice, she is passionate about Sangha’s mission to make health and wellness a right of life, not a luxury. The studio has had a tremendous impact on her life and yoga practice (although she still can’t keep from banging her forehead on the floor during crow) and is excited to begin this new role as a board member and give back to the studio that has given her so much. Have fundraising ideas for the studio? Just want to say hi? Send her an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or come up and chat before class!
